Not far from the centre, in the ‘Palazzo’ district, stands Palazzo Belotti, a 16th-century building constructed by the Belotti family, a wealthy family of silk merchants. The building was later embellished with neoclassical features designed by architect Rodolfo Vantini, including a stone staircase and ceilings decorated by Teosa. Recent utilitarian alterations have stripped this building of its distinctive neoclassical character.
