It is housed in the Grande Miglio, in Castello, in the former grain storehouse built in the late sixteenth century. It offers a selection of the Museum’s collections, including portraits, memorabilia, proclamations and prints documenting the Risorgimento epic and the patriotic movements for national unity, where everyday objects, along with memorabilia and documents, explain the events of the great history. Particular attention is paid to the historical events of the local area, which was the hub of the Republic of Brescia in 1797, the Ten Days and subsequently the crossroads of the Wars of Independence and the scene of famous battles. With the new layout, it has chosen to select a part of the aforementioned heritage exhibition, to construct inside the museum a theme centred on the Battle of San Martino and Solferino, entitled The great battle, the huge hospital.
