Church of St. Peter the Apostle (Monteroseo)

S. Pietro in Monte Roseo was a church built on the Monteroseo plateau, already mentioned in 1365 in the oldest document in the municipal archives, ‘ad cantorum S. Petri’.
Only the perimeter walls remain of this ancient building. Emigli tells us that in 1756, the Randini family of Barghe were obliged to celebrate two masses a week thanks to the bequest of Mr Lorenzo Provaglio.
It was only in 1786 that Pietro Randini, a resident of Brescia, requested and obtained permission from the Curia to build another small church, the current church, near his property in Monteroseo, with an entrance on the road, dedicating it to St. Peter the Apostle and Mary Magdalene.
After the construction of the new church, the old church on the hill was abandoned and partially transformed. The current church is smaller than the previous one.
