The former church of the Disciplini is a valuable testament to the central role played by the Confraternities in the history of Bedizzole. Initially active at the church of San Rocco, the brothers expanded their headquarters during the 18th century, building a new chapel near the current parish church, not far from the ancient Diaconia di Santo Stefano.
Towards the end of the century, the building was completely renovated according to a design attributed to Antonio Spaccio (or Spazzi). However, in 1797, the confraternity was suppressed and its assets confiscated. The altar with the altarpiece was transferred to the parish church, while the building was subsequently acquired by the municipality. Today, the former church has been converted into a multifunctional civic space, used for exhibitions, cultural events and public presentations.
