Magasa

the tradition of cheese makers

Magasa preserves buildings worthy of a Tolkien book: the barns of Cima Rest, small buildings with large thatched roofs. This is a visible remnant of a time when these slopes belonged to the Austro-Hungarian Empire. The decision to preserve them changed their use over time, transforming them from barns into living quarters. Ancient cheese-making expertise combined with the nourishing flora of these meadows brings us Tombea cheese: one taste of this rare delicacy, and you will think you can hear the cowbells ringing.
